Armed men attacked a family in Ngoingwa estate, Thika town, and robbed them of cash and household items before raping their daughters on Sunday night.
The four men raided the residence and robbed the owner of Sh 20,000, household goods, and ATM cards.
The gang then stayed in the house for about four hours drinking beer they found in the premise.
After getting intoxicated, they raped the man's three daughters aged 16, 18 and 21, and a neighbour's daughter aged 18 who had visited the family.
They then escaped using a neighbour’s car which was later recovered in Kariobangi, Nairobi.
Thika OCPD Paul Leting has said detectives are following crucial leads. “We have not made any arrests but the investigations are going on well,” he said.
Elsewhere, police have launched investigations into a robbery incident at Nairobi Women’s Hospital on Monday morning.
Four robbers, three men and a woman, went to the hospital’s Adams Arcade branch at around 2am and robbed the cashier Elizabeth Mwongeli of Sh 222,535.
Kilimani OCPD Bernard Muli said they are looking for the middle-aged female suspect believed to be the leader of the gang.
She had posed on the queue as a patient, pretending that she wanted to pay the bill.
When her turn reached, she was joined by the three men who produced pistols. They then robbed the cashier of the money before walking casually to the parking yard and driving off towards Ngong road.
Several people, including some members of the staff, have already recorded their statements as investigations continue.
