Four others were critically injured and were admitted to Mogotio and Kabarnet district hospitals.
Police say the bus lost control while trying to overtake a lorry near Emining in Koibatek, Baringo County.
“The school bus hit the right side of the lorry from behind and lost control,” Koibatek district agriculture officer Richard Kamng’oror said. He was among the first people to arrive at the scene.
He said they were a total of 29 boys and four teachers in the school bus.
Koibatek OCPD Karisa Mwakiringa said the students were heading to Lake Bogoria for a geographical tour.
