Speaking at a Hotel in Eldoret town on Tuesday, the elders said that the act of crying in front of children is a taboo in the Kalenjin Community and one is usually followed with curses if not cleansed.
They also expressed their concerns about how a leader of William Ruto’s calibre could fail to contain himself in front of a large multitude of people.
Ruto on Sunday broke into tears in front of thousands of faithful at Faith Evangelistic Church in Karen. He claimed that he was overwhelmed by emotions on what God has done to them for Jubilee Coalition to win.
Ruto together with President–elect Uhuru Kenyatta were on Saturday declared the winners in the just concluded general election.
The elders are yet to announce the date of cleansing Ruto.
