URP bags 5 seats, ODM gets 5 and UHURU’s TNA takes 2 - UNOPPOSED

The Chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Issack Hassan has declared twelve candidates for the post of County Assembly Ward (CAWs) elected ‘unopposed’.

A statement from the IEBC read;

“12 County Assembly Ward (CAWs) candidates will be pronounced elected unopposed and the names gazette in due course.”

The biggest beneficiary from this development is William Ruto’s URP which took five seats while Uhuru Kenyatta’s TNA took two seats. Raila Odinga’s ODM meanwhile took five seats in its stronghold of Nyanza.

Some of Jubilee alliance candidates who benefitted from the announcement are Emoi Hassan (URP, Banissa ward), Hassan Abdulla (Guba ward, TNA), Mohammed Shabure (Kiliwehiri ward, URP), Ibrahim Ahmed (Wargadad ward, URP) and Wariyo Ibrahim (Shimbir Fatuma ward, URP) in Mandera County.

The ODM candidates who were elected unopposed are Sylvester Madialo (Usonga ward, Siaya county), Joseph Osano (Chemelil ward, Kisumu county), Michael Ooro (Rusinga Island, Homa Bay county), Ronald Asiga (Wasimbete ward, Migori county) and Michael Osongo (Central Kanyamkago, Migori county).
