Mother Abandons Baby With A Note In A Supermarket Parking Lot

A New Zealand woman has made headlines for leaving her baby in a car at a parking lot with an attached note for by-passers just in case anything happened while she was inside doing her shopping.

According to reports, the woman left the baby strapped in and locked in the car with a note saying, “My mum’s in doing the shopping, call her if I need anything.” She also had written her cell number so that the reader of the note could easily access her as she shopped inside the supermarket.

The police in Porirua, New Zealand where the incident happened did not investigate the case as no reports were filed nor were there any forthcoming witnesses.

Speaking to ‘The New Zealand Herald’, Annie Coughlan the national police spokeswoman stated, “We would launch an investigation if we could but at this stage no one’s come forward.”

Reports state that bystanders eventually called the baby’s mother and she came back to the car.
