Former Kenya Attorney General Amos Wako has been elected the first Senator for Busia County. Wako, who ran on an ODM ticket, garnered 146,828 votes, beating former Nambale MP Chris Okemo of Ford Kenya who had 59,413 votes. Narc Kenya’s Faith Maumoh was third with 10,298 votes.
The Busia Governor seat was won by former Amagoro MP Sospeter Ojaamong while ODM’s Florence Mutua beat LDP’s Julia Ojiambo to win the County Women Representative seat.
