Africog wants vote tallying declared irregular

Two officials of an organisation petitioning Uhuru Kenyatta’s election say this week’s partial scrutiny of presidential election results has proved their case.
Africa Centre for Open Governance (Africog) officials Gladwell Otieno and Zahid Rajan said the report confirmed their observation that electoral officials did not verify results from all polling stations as required by law.
Through their lawyer Kethi Kilonzo, they singled out Laikipia West constituency where they said they found two different ‘Forms 36’. and “were unable to verify votes cast”.
Africog also took issue with the finding that ten of the 18,000 Forms 34 requested for the audit were not provided to the scrutinising team.
“The formula is mathematical and the constant is ‘all votes cast’. If there are ten Forms 34 missing, where are they and what are the results of those?” Kilonzo asked.
The lawyer accused IEBC of announcing the presidential election winner before tallying was complete.
