Prime Minister Raila Odinga has rubbished the recently carried opinion poll by Ipsos Synovate that showed him trailing behind Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta.

Addressing residents of Rigoma trading centre in Nyamira County on Friday, the PM said Coalition for Reform and Democracy (CORD) will win the next election with a landslide, urging Kenyans not to trust opinion polls.

According to opinion polls released on Friday, if elections were held today. Uhuru would win with 44.8% of the vote while Raila would follow closely behind with 44.4% of the vote.

Raila said the opinions polls do not reflect what is happening on the ground, urging Kenyans to keep off from them.

This is the first time the PM has dismissed opinion polls from the time he entered into active politics, since he has been always ahead.

He also said opinion polls are aimed at causing panic among supporters and dividing Kenyans along tribal lines.
