A new “Misery Index” of 197 countries and territories by Business Insider ranks Kenya as the 13th most miserable in the world. The index sums up a country’s unemployment and inflation rates and the higher the score, the more miserable a country is.
Kenya had a misery score of 50.1, derived from an inflation rate of 10.1% and a 40% unemployment rate. However, with the discovery of oil in 2012, Business Insider are optimistic Kenya’s economy will improve.
