Scouts in the country have challenged to be in the forefront in preaching peace ahead of the March 4th general elections.
Speaking in Nyeri over the weekend, during a ceremony to commemorate the 157thbirthday of the Scouts Movement Founder Lord Baden Powell, the Equity Bank Chief Executive Officer Dr. James Mwangi who was the guest, challenged the Scouts in Kenya to live by their guiding principles of ‘living a life with a purpose’ and therefore being role models in the society.
He said that at this point in time when the country’s political temperature is too high, it’s upon each and every Kenyan including groups like Scouts and Girl Guides to play their rightful roles in ensuring that the political heat does not turn to fires and flames.
He appealed to everyone to maintain peace during and after the March 4th election.
The ceremony was attended by over 20,000 young Scouts and Girl Guides across the country.
