The only leader I may place ahead of Hon. Sonko, in terms of patriotic greatness, is the late Hon. TJ Mboya. (TJ Mboya was a Suba. Subas are Bantus. I just want to point out this fact which has been misrepresented by historians..) Tribalism and negative ethnicity are the biggest challenges that have dogged Kenya since immediate post-colonial era (early 1960s).
We must pay tribute to Hon. Mike Mbuvi Sonko as one of those very few leaders who have cultivated genuine nationalistic, patriotic and tribeless mass appeal.Let me point out that Hon. Sonko has been misunderstood due to his appearance and fashion statement, but fundamentally when you listen to Mr. Sonko's interviews, you will find more substance in them than you would listening to likes of Nyong'o, Orengo, Raila, Kalonzo, Ababu, et cetera.
Clearly, Sonko also understands The Constitution more deeply than most Kenyan lawyers: Evidently, he can recite and apply sections of The Constitution to relevant issues facing ordinary wananchi. He puts life to The Constitution.So in my humble opinion, I would say that Hon. Mike Sonko joins a rare class of true Kenyan patriots. He is second only to TJ Mboya Ja'Suba in this regard. It is indeed my pleasure to affirmatively recognize Mr. Mike Sonko as being one of the Greatest Kenyan Leaders of ALL Time.
