An Illinois man pleaded guilty to illegally obtaining semen from deer worth $55,000.
The semen came from a buck in East Texas, which he knew had been illegally transported from a source outside the state.
U.S. Attorney John M. Bales said that the semen came from a buck in East Texas, and Raymond Favero knew it had been illegally transported from out of state. The 55 year old man from Illinois, entered his guilty plea in federal court in Tyler.
If the court accepts his guilty plea deal, Favero will be placed on probation for five years, will get a fine of $150,000 on behalf of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Reward Fund and will be ordered to pay $50,000 in restitution to Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation.
