CNN award winning photojournalist cum activist, Boniface Mwangi will on Wednesday lead a procession across Nairobi’s CBD in honor of the just closed parliament by delivering 221 coffins at parliament buildings, one for each outgoing MP.
This follows the MPs engaging in yet another conspiracy to reward themselves 9.3 million shillings each, as a send off package. However the President on Saturday rejected the bill on grounds that the government could not afford that.
The peaceful procession will begin at Uhuru Park’s Freedom Corner and head to parliament buildings. The match is expected to attract Kenyans with thousands of anti- vulture flags.
The main purpose of the demonstration is to signify the kind of leaders we need to vote in as well as act as a reminder to the leaders that citizens are ready for peaceful elections.
The photojournalist advocates for Kenyans to take a proactive action against bad leadership. He also urges citizens to speak out against impunity and exercise their right to vote.
Everyone is requested to spread the word for a successful event.
