Prime Minister Raila Odinga has reiterated his commitment to seeking reconciliation with Eldoret North MP William Ruto.

Addressing a gathering convened by Kalenjin Elders in Ngata Nakuru on Monday, Raila said that he values the Kalenjin community considering their contribution to his campaigns during the 2007 elections.

He apologized to the Kalenjin community " for any wrong " that he might have done saying that he is willing to continue talking to Ruto for a common goal come march 2013 elections.

He said that he had spoken to Ruto and that he was optimistic Ruto will continue engaging him for a common good .

The gathering put the PM to task to explain what steps he had taken to ensure that he works with Ruto to form the next government as well as address "historical injustices" encountered by the community.

Raila said that he was committed to ensuring land issues raised by the speakers were addressed and at the same time promised resettlement of all Mau forest evictees by the end of this year.

The meeting was convened at a farm owned by former commissioner with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission - Lawrence Bomett.

Bomett trashed a peace accord signed between the Kalenjin and Kikuyu communities three months ago saying that participants to the signing were hand picked , with most meetings taking place in big hotels thus locking out people from the grass root.

Those who attended the meeting were drawn from six different counties among them Nakuru , Bomet, Samburu , Laikipia and Narok.

Raila was accompanied by Ministers Anyang Nyong'o,Musa Sirma,Henry Kosgey , Paul Otuoma, Assistant Ministers Beatrice Kones,Magerer Langat and Sigor Mp Wilson Litole.
