Narc-Kenya presidential aspirant Martha Karua has said she would soon pick a man as her running mate.
“When time comes I am going to name a man as my presidential running mate as stipulated in the Constitution,” she said.
Ms Karua was speaking at Ciakariga village in Tharaka Nithi County during the burial of councillor Moses Nyaga David. Nyaga was the only civic leader from the area elected on a Narc-Kenya ticket.
Karua said her party was the only one to put into consideration composition of its officials who include men, women, youth and the disabled.
Karua told the mourners that despite the fact that she travels by road to seek votes across the country, she was able to reach many Kenyans who have come to like the ideals she stands for.
Equitable distribution
She likened herself with the mother who wakes up early to attend to her daily chores and at the end of the day brings food on the table for all her children, and yet serves the husband and has still some for the visitors.
“When you elect me as president, I will ensure every Kenyan gets a share of the national cake no matter how small as long as it will be equitably shared,” she said.
She revisited her reason for quitting the Grand Coalition Government, saying massive corruption in the system was to blame for her drastic action.
She said corruption, looting of public resources continued to be the order of the day with those in Government being the greatest culprits who perfected the art, yet president Kibaki was elected on a zero tolerance to corruption platform.
