Police in Mombasa have been granted three days by the resident magistrate to detain 11 girls and a foreigner as they conduct investigations over an alleged case of exploitation and pr0stitution. According to an affidavit presented in court, these 11 girls and the foreigner were arrested yesterday, and are said to have committed the offence between 1st April and May 9 this year at Mamba village in Nyali.
Initially there were allegations that the s3xual act involved dogs, an assertion that could not be proved at the moment and the police asked for more time, to conduct comprehensive investigations. The lawyer for the accused Lumatete Muchai however asked the court not to grant the investigating officers more time insisting they lacked evidence to prosecute the suspects. However, the police explained to the court that they had confiscated some p0rn0graphic material which would aid the police in their investigation. The accused will appear in court on Monday.
