Two United Kingdom councilors of Kenyan descent, Councilor Elizabeth Kang'ethe (left) and Councilor Daniel Munyambu (right) have jointly sent a message of congratulations to His Excellency Hon President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy Hon William Ruto for being elected in the just concluded general elections in Kenya. The two Councilors allude other elected members and urge them to work hard to prove to their constituents the confidence bestowed on them by delivering services and realization of the dreams andaspirations of our great Kenyan nation. On their part, the two councilors have promised to work with His Excellency Hon Uhuru Kenyatta’s government especially in organizing exchange programs with relevant departments for the benefit of the Kenyan society.
They concluded by applauding the people of the entire Nation of Kenya for upholding peace and harmony throughout the entire period of elections which was anticipated to be marred by chaos. Kenyans have truly proved to the world that we are now mature enough and respect each other despite our political affiliations.
Elizabeth Kang’ethe has served as the councilor of Parsloe Ward in Barking and Dagenham since 2010 and belongs to the BNP Party while Daniel Munyambu has served as the councilor of Basildon, Essex since 2011 under the Labor Party. They were both born and grew up in Kenya and are the first natives of Kenya to hold elective office in the UK.
