ICC Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda will visit the country next week to seek evidence that the Kenyan authorities are allegedly withholding.

Attorney General Githu Muigai who is the Chief Government adviser agreed with Mrs Bensouda to visit the country in the third week of October to dig more evidence to nail the four Kenyan suspects who have been indicted by The Hague based court.

“Yes she is coming next week on Monday for a series of meeting with various government officials,” the AG confirmed to journalists on Tuesday.

Bensouda will meet the AG, Internal Security Minister Katoo Ole Metito, Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko, Chief Registrar of Judiciary Gladys Shollei, Special Programmes Minister Ester Murugi and cabinet subcommittee on ICC.

The five-day visit by Bensouda is a high–stake one that might change the course of events at the ICC.

Among the evidences that Bensouda requires is the Kass FM broadcasts and a recorded telephone conversation between two of the four suspects.

But a senior government official told the DAILY POST on Wednesday that they will not surrender any information because the ICC court initially admitted it has enough evidence to nail the four suspects.

“The ball is on their court. They are the ones who went to the court and promised they had this and that information. They categorically said they had evidence to this regard and promised the pre- trial chamber that they would be able to prove their claims on trial,” he said.
