President Mwai Kibaki Receives International Award

President Mwai Kibaki
Kenya's President Mwai Kibaki has been awarded the prestigious 2012 Lifeline Africa Achievement Award by the Accra, Ghana based Millennium Excellence Foundation (MEF) as a result of his efforts towards national cohesion and stability in the country.

Also awarded by the MEF were Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni who received the Prize for Nation Building and African Leadership and former late president of Ghana John Yatta Mills who received the Prize for Democratic Governance and Development in Africa. Sudanese-born UK business mogul Mo Ibrahim received the Action for Africa Award, in recognition of his dedication of democratic governance and integrity in Africa.

The awards will be presented on December 15, 2012 at State House, Nairobi.

Past recipients of the Lifeline Africa Achievement Award include Bishop Desmond Tutu fromSouth Africa, Wole Soyinka from South Africa and former UN Secretary General Dr Koffi Annan.
