A middle aged woman is now in police custody after she killed her mother in law and dumped her body at a cassava plantation in Kitale in a morning incident that has left villagers in shock.According to residents the woman had had a quarrel with her mother in law whom she lives with since her husband got deployed by a company in South Sudan. After the quarrel the woman hit her mother with a blunt object on her head and dumped her dead body at a neighboring cassava plantation.
A neighbor who had gone to the cassava farm to harvest cassavas found the badly wounded body alerting residents who called police officers.
The woman gave controversial statements on her mother in law and was arrested by Kitale police officers. She will be arraigned in court for the charges of murder.
Kitale police boss confirmed the incident. The body of her mother in law was taken to Kitale level five hospital mortuary.
