Starehe Lawmaker Margret Wanjiru delayed her departure from Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) after Prime Minister Raila Odinga promised her a direct nomination for Nairobi governor seat.
But Raila’s close advisors are not happy with the PM’s move so they are trying any means to get rid of Wanjiru who is also the Housing Assistant Minister.
Wanjiru’s rivals have now hatched a plan, arguing that Wanjiru has no “first degree” despite her doctoral qualification in divinity from South Africa.
“Sisi tunatambua digrii za Nairobi, Maseno, Moi na kadhalika,” one of the PM aides said.
Raila Odinga Campaign Secretariat is torn between Bishop Wanjiru and former Mumias Sugar Managing Director Dr Evans Kidero who is vying for the same seat.
Kidero has threatened to ditch the Orange Party if the PM offers Bishop Wanjiru direct nomination for Nairobi governor’s seat.
